She was predeceased by : her parents, Roy Mills and Dorothy Mills; her husband Dalton Howell; and her brothers, Kenneth Mills and Thomas Mills.

She is survived by : her children, David Rhodes (Christy) and Susan Nettles (Wendell); and her sisters, Helen Bennett, Carol White, Eva Malone, Annette Wilson and Diana Harris. She is also survived by five grandchildren, three great-grandchildren, and other extended family.
