He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Harry Merriman and Hildred Merriman (Eisenhaure); his former wife Eleanore Johnson; his wife Rose Mallard Kirby Merriman; his children, Diane Harmon of Zellwood, Bruce Merriman of Sanford, Candy Jensen (Bruce), Brian Merriman (Casey Ann), John Kirby (Lisa) of Deltona and Steve Cheek; his sister Betty Correlle; his grandchildren, Michelle Gayhart (Kelly) of Eustis, Krista Keller (Rob) of Mt. Dora, Steven Harmon (Stephanie) of Apopka, Jackie Sweeney (Sean), Joshua Kirby of Deltona, Kathleen Woods (Bryce) of Casselberry, Amy Merriman, Sheri Koller, Lisa Merriman of Ft. Meyers, Olivia Sugarman, Brett, James Jensen, Leah Baird (Jon), Elizabeth Moller (Jon), Ben Merriman (Amanda) and Alison Merriman; his great grandchildren, Kyra, Tanner, Madison, Camden, Jayden, Jackson, Ansley, Lorraine, Rosemary, Michael, Lillian, Jimmy and Brigid; his daughter Barbara Cheek; and his son-in-law Steve Harmon.
Due to Covid-19, Dick's family will celebrate his life, at a future date, with a service at Grace Bible Baptist Church, Leesburg and with military honors at the Florida National Cemetery in Bushnell.
