He was predeceased by: his parents, Carl W. Sr. Gillespie and Lucy Talton Gillespie; and his wife Madeline J. Gillespie. He is survived by: his daughters, Lucy Keene of Front Royal, VA and Carla Brooks (Ward) of Abbeville; and his grandchildren, Carson Brooks (Sara), Joseph Brooks, Kelly Werner (Nick), Joel Keene and Emily Thomas (Tony). He is also survived by seven great-grandchildren.
