We are sad to announce that on October 2, 2023, at the age of 90, Joanne H. Kirkland of Abbeville, Georgia, born in Vienna, Georgia passed away. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Ham Pate Swearingen and Martha Ophelia Smith; her husbands, Charles Harris and Benjamin Tilman Kirkland; her daughter-in-law Terri Harris; and her siblings, Rubye Brady (Bill), Eunice Bowden (Bob), Bernice Mitchell (Lowell), Verna Banks (Dewey), Hamilton Swearingen, Elizabeth Helms (Joel), Annelle Hendley (JC) and Helen Reuter (Julius).

She is survived by : her sons, Tim Harris (Michelle) of Tifton and Craig Kirkland (Hannah) of Moultrie; her grandchildren, Rusty Harris (Leigh), Jordan Harris (Taylor), Eric Kirkland (Abby), Brian Kirkland and Brock Snyder (Haley); and her great grandchildren, Townes Harris, Elliot Kirkland and Autumn Snyder.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be given to Shady Pines Assisted Living in Abbeville, or to Siloam Baptist Church, Abbeville.
