He was predeceased by : his parents, James "Jim" Rhodes and Eva Grace Elder Rhodes; and his siblings, Mary Cason, Jurelle Flowers, Olis Hunter, Jimmie Pittman and Cecil Rhodes.

He is survived by : his wife Mary Henderson Rhodes; his sisters, Pamela Kicklighter (Robert) and Emma Jane Tomberlin (John W.); his children, Johnny Rhodes (Ruth Ann) of Abbeville, James Rhodes (Peggy) of Abbeville, Joselyn Studstill (Joseph) of Abbeville and Darlene Dixon (Mark) of Kathleen; his grandchildren, Johnathan Rhodes (Kristi) of Abbeville, Kayla Fuller (Tommy) of Abbeville, Heather Hall (Kevin) of Abbeville, Matthew Studstill (Sara Beth) of Abbeville, Adam Rhodes of Abbeville, Brandon Dixon (Alicia) and Caleb Studstill (Becky) of Pittsboro, NC; and his great grandchildren, Lylafae Dixon, Lizzie Mae Fuller, Asher Studstill, Luna Dixon, Kayli Ann Fuller, Skylar Hall, Luke Dixon, Charlotte Studstill and Iris Studstill.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Lebanon Baptist Church or the Georgia Baptist Children's Home.
