He was predeceased by : his parents, Joseph Wheeler and Naomi Ross Wheeler; and his siblings, Kay Chacos, Ann Brown, Phyllis Snider, Mildred "June" Damron and Robert Wheeler.

He is survived by : his daughter Shana Wheeler of Sarasota, FL; the mother of his child Pamela Wheeler of Sarasota, FL; his grandsons, Matthew Wheeler of Sarasota, FL and Patrick Wheeler of St. Augustine, FL; and his sister Colletta Rose of Zephyrhills, FL. He is also survived by many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
