He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Clara Lee Storey Carpenter and George Benson Carpenter; his children, James Rodney (Brande Carpenter) of Acworth, Georgia and Laura Ann (David Whitlock) of Acworth, Georgia; his siblings, Bobby Carpenter (Judy) of Lompoc, Jesse Carpenter (Sharon) of Mason, Riley Carpenter (Pam) of Adairsville, Stanley Carpenter (Jocelyn) of Summerville, Georgia and Nellie Blocker (Tommy) of Doraville, Georgia; his sister-in-law Sarah Gray (Buddy) of Tuscaloosa, Alabama; his grandchildren, Rochelle Ensworth (Chris), Derrick Carpenter (Emilie), Amanda Brendel (Nic) and Jacob Whitlock; and his great grandchildren, Alexis, Savannah, Emilie and Landon. He was also cherished by several nieces and nephews.
