He was predeceased by : his parents, Rev. Benny Ward Ray and Fannie Eugenia Moore Ray. He is survived by : his wife Dorothy "Dottie" Heavner Ray of Alma; his children, Jenny Moorman (Whit) of Lexington, SC., Cindy Gibson of Douglas, GA. and Benjamin Ray (Drew) of Athens, GA.; his grandchildren, Caroline Whitaker (Austin), Sam Boatright, Lee, Laurel Moorman, Alex, Andrew, Amelia and Abe Gibson; and his great grandchildren, Brooks and Evie Whitaker.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Bacon County High School Golf Team.
