He was predeceased by: his parents, Caleb Smith and Caplena Smith; and his wife Frances Gunter Smith. He is survived by: his sisters-in-law, Deana Smith, Betty Gunter Thompson and Kate Gunter; his nieces, Vicki Gunter Parker, Janice Bradford Shirley and Verla Tucker; and his friends, Joe and Phyllis Vernon. He is also survived by numerous other nieces and nephews.
