He was predeceased by: his parents, Walter A. Johnson and Betty V. Johnson; his brother Jimmy O. Johnson; and his nephew Jeremy W. Cantrell. He is survived by: his wife Danita P. Johnson; his daughters, Emily, Ashley and Kelsey Johnson; his siblings, Joyce J. Cantrell and Tim A. Johnson; and his sister-in-law Kathy Johnson. He is also survived by many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorials be made to The American Diabetes Association.
