He was predeceased by: his parent Taft Potter; and his siblings, Willy Potter, Harold Potter, Buster Potter, Ann Ruth Ogletree, Mavis Crowe and Barabara VanAssche.
He is survived by: his mother Julia Potter of Americus; his son William Potter, Jr. of Americus; and his sisters, Martha Castleberry, Sarah Scarbrough and Doris Ann Potter. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
