He is survived by: his wife Pamela B. Shropshire of Athens; his siblings, Diane Shropshire Mooney and William Benjamin Shropshire; his daughters, Kelly Shropshire Spratt (Jeff Spratt) of Cartersville and Shannon Shropshire; his husband Arthur Pringle; his stepsons, David Harris (Leigh Anne) of Bishop and Brian Harris of Athens; and his grandchildren, Hannah Spratt, Hank Spratt, Dixon Shropshire, Rabun Shropshire, Blake Harris, Kaitlyn Harris and Claire Harris.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Shropshire Family Fund at the Athens Area Community Foundation, PO Box 1543, Athens, Georgia 30603.
