It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Lolita Troyce Brown (Athens, Georgia), who passed away on May 30, 2025, at the age of 95, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to send flowers or leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Ina Ogletree and Clarence Hammond; her husband Fred William Brown; her grandson Zachary Brown Watkins; and her siblings, Marguerite Woods, Rev. Curtis Hammond, Kenneth Hammond and Wayne Hammond.
She is survived by: her daughters, Betty Hooper (Mike), Terri Brown Watkins (Buck) and Deborah T. Brown; her sister Juanita Porterfield; and her grandchildren, Amber Carmel Meeks (Jeffrey), Brandon Causey, Sara Causey Weeks (Chris), Dan Hooper (Edith) and Trenton Hooper. She is also survived by numerous great-grandchildren.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 from 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Lord & Stephens Funeral Homes (4355 Lexington Rd, Athens, GA 30605). A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at 2:00 PM at the same location. A burial will be held on Tuesday, June 10th 2025 at the Pleasant Grove Baptist Church (2291 Diamond Hill Neese Rd, Hull, GA 30646).
