He was predeceased by: his parent David Painter; and his brother James Edward Painter. He is survived by: his parent Margaret Nelson Painter; his wife Marge Painter of Athens; his children, Patty Lester (Mike) of Greensboro, David Painter (Debra) of Colbert and Bobby Painter (Vicki) of Hull; his sister Sue Valentine of Wheaton, IL; his grandchildren, Ronald Epperson (Amy), Erin Self (Caleb), Jesse Painter (Amanda) and Amber Painter; and his great grandchildren, Reese Self, Claire Self, Asher Epperson, Olivia Epperson, Landon Painter, Kate Painter and Anna Painter. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
