He is survived by: his parents, Emory Franklin Chaffin and Mabel Verner Chaffin; his wife Ethel Tison Chaffin; his daughter Ethel Chaffin Simonetti; his son-in-law Vincent Simonetti of Durham; his daughter Mary Chaffin; his son-in-law Lance Murty of Portland; his son Frank Chaffin; his daughter-in-law Mary Wynn Chaffin of Cashiers; his son John Chaffin (Elliot Pilshaw) of Fort Lauderdale; and his grandchildren, Pamela Chaffin, Daniel Murty, Gregory Chaffin, Jonathan Chaffin and Carlos Chaffin.
