Martha Irene Pitts McMillin Obituary
It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Martha Irene Pitts McMillin of Atlanta, Georgia, who passed away on February 22, 2021, at the age of 101, leaving to mourn family and friends. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by : her former life partner John Horace McMillin; her siblings, John Griffin Pitts, Jr., Joyce Mae Pitts Holcomb, Marian Pitts Ramage and Sarah Evelyn "Peggy" Pitts Reddeck; and her parents, John Griffin Pitts, Sr. and Ellen Irene Adair Pitts.
She is survived by : her daughters, Martha Pitts McMillin and Susan Clark McMillin Link; her husband Charles Martin Link, II; and her children, Elizabeth Adair Link and Charles Martin Link, III. She is also survived by grandmother as "Mema", and her loving extended family of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Although she beat pneumonia from COVID, it was a Pyrrhic victory, as it left her lungs and body ravaged by this dreadful disease.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to either of the churches which meant so much to Martharene: Broad Street United Methodist Church in Clinton, 310 North Broad Street, Clinton, SC 29325, or First Presbyterian Church, 393 East Main Street, Spartanburg, SC 29302.
