He was predeceased by : his siblings, Deborah Mathis, Michelle Wright and Torian Askew. He is survived by : his parents, William R. Askew Sr. and Faye H. Askew-Mathis (late Thomas Charles Mathis Sr.).

Viewing was held on Friday, May 10th 2024 from 10:00 AM to 7:00 PM at the Herschel Thornton Mortuary (3346 M. L. K. Jr Dr SW, Atlanta, GA 30331). A funeral service was held on Saturday, May 11th 2024 at 1:00 PM at the New Love Tabernacle Christian Church (5480 Browns Mill Rd, Stonecrest, GA 30038).
