He was predeceased by: his father Joseph "Joe" Michael Petty, Sr.; and his grandmother Agatha Elizabeth "Bessie" McDevitt. He is survived by: his mother Beverly Joe Sherling Petty; and his siblings, Michael "Mike" Petty (Stephanie), Edna Petty Gantt (Russell), Ronald Vincent Petty, Demott Timothy "Tim" Petty and John Edward Petty (Gabriela). He is also survived by 11 nieces and nephews; and 7 great nieces and nephews.
