He was predeceased by: his parents, Ollis Wood and Cora Wood; his daughter Glenda Wood Hawk; and his siblings, Vetra, Walala of Lawrence, L. C. and James Ray.
He is survived by: his wife Annie Wood; his children, Tammey Wood Usry (Danny), Joseph Wood (Julie), Steven Wood (Barbara) and Tony Ray Wood (Rosemarie); his stepdaughter Susan Jennings (Wesley); and his sister Martha Wood Wright. He is also survived by 16 grandchildren; 28 great-grandchildren.
