With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James Kemp Jr. of Augusta, Georgia, who passed away on June 10, 2025 at the age of 70. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
As James departs from this earthly realm, his essence lingers — a whisper on the wind, a ripple on the water — a testament to the enduring power of love to transcend the boundaries of life and death. Though James may no longer walk beside us, his spirit lives on in the memories and the legacy James leaves behind.
He was predeceased by: his parents, James Kemp, Sr. and Mattie L. Kemp. He is survived by: his sisters, Annie Kemp of Sylvania, Georgia, Linda Kemp-Preacher of Sylvania, Georgia, Joann Kemp of Sylvania, Georgia, Patricia Kemp and Mattie Roberts (William) of Statesboro, Georgia.. He is also survived by 14 nieces and nephews, 29 great-nieces and nephews, 2 great-great-nephews and a great-great-niece, and many uncles, aunts, and cousins.
A memorial service will be held on Wednesday, June 18th 2025 at 12:00 PM at the Smalls Funeral Home Chapel (203 Samuel Smalls Sr Ave, Guyton, GA 31312).
