With heavy hearts, we announce the death of James W. Read Jr. (Augusta, Georgia), who passed away on December 1, 2021 at the age of 84. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
He was predeceased by: his wife Elizabeth Cole Read; his close friend Mary Prather of Florida; his parents, James Wiley Read, Sr. and Vivian Adams Read; his stepmother Margaret Walters Read; his sisters, Julia Read and Ann Read Shirey; and his brother-in-law Joseph Foshee (Doby).
He is survived by: his children, James Larry Read and Julia Ann King; his siblings, Floyd Read (Barbara), Carol Read Logan (David) and Eleanor Read Foshee; and his brother-in-law Juddson Shirey.
