He was predeceased by: his parents, John Hugh Dye and Emily Helen Dye; and his sister Emily Helen Prickett. He is survived by: his wife Annette Dye; his children, John Dye and Helen Kelly; his granddaughter Emily Cole (Tyler); and his nieces, Nancy Prickett and Michelle Simmons.
