It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Virginia Sheppard of Augusta, Georgia, born in Avera, Georgia, who passed away on December 20, 2021, at the age of 96, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was loved and cherished by many people including: her significant other Horace "Scrap" Sheppard; her parents, Claude E. Mathis and Julia Will Dixon Mathis; her sons, Charles Randall "Randy" Sheppard and Larry R. Sheppard (Sandra); her granddaughter Natalie Sheppard Moorhead (Justin); and her close friend Sherry McKie.
