He was predeceased by: his wife Betty Dean Webb Hammer; his sister Mary Jo Purves; and his parents, Orval Hammer and Pearl Hammer. He is survived by: his children, Robert B. Hammer (Karen) of Atlanta and Joanna H. Dykes (Wade) of Monroe, GA; and his grandchildren, Will Hammer, Hadley Hammer, Austin Dykes and Hannah Dykes.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be given to Smile Train, Project HOPE, and the Intrepid Fallen Heroes Fund.
