He was predeceased by: his father Rufus Messex Sr.; his stepfather Eddie Barsh; and his siblings, Walter Messex and Wanda Inglett. He is survived by: his wife Andrea Messex; his children, Mikel (Ciara) and Nikki; his mother Connie J Barsh; his mother-in-law Margaret Schmidthaus; his siblings, Rudy Messex (Pam), Patrick Barsh (Becky), Perry Barsh and Candy Messex; and his sisters-in-law, Sandra Messex Formby and Gudrun Scholz (Raphael). He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
