She was predeceased by: her husband Leroy Whitehead; her parents, Jim D. Mitchell and Willie Ruth Mitchell; and her sisters, Nancy Ruth Mitchell, Catherine Strickland, Ruby Gaines and Joann Mitchell.
She is survived by: her children, Jane Anderson (Jerry) of Austell, Julie Escobar (Carlos) of Smyrna and Frankie Whitehead (Johnsi) of Temple; her grandchildren, Gwendolyn Shearer, Lt. Daniel Anderson (Mary), Zachary Shearer and Alix Whitehead; her great grandchild Abigail Anderson; and her siblings, James Mitchell, J. D. Mitchell and Linda Faye Babbs. She is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
