He is survived by: his children, Donna Mattox (John) of Douglasville, Michael Gibbs (Ed) of Marietta and Angela Edwards (Johnnie) of Mableton; his brother Winford "Jake" Gibbs of Cedar Bluff, AL; his grandchildren, Johnathon Edwards and Jonah Edwards; and his aunt Wilma Jeter of Bowdon.
