He was predeceased by: his parents, Harry Payne and Mary Lee Dean Payne; his daughter Nikki Payne; and his sister Harriett Payne. He is survived by: his wife Sherlyn Walker Payne of Blackshear; his children, Lisa Lee (Cameron) of Mershon, Brantley Crews (Jessica) of Waycross and Rein Hall (Mitch) of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Logan Lee of Blackshear, Morgan Lee of Mershon, Lauren Lee (Grant Gilliard) of Alma, Christopher Riggins of Blackshear, Bryce Crews of Patterson and Easton Hall of Blackshear; his great grandchildren, Ava Bryson of Mershon, Hayger Bryson of Mershon and Kash Gilliard of Alma; his brothers, Donald Payne (Carol) of Blackshear and Harold Payne (Debbie) of Blackshear; and his close friends, Stryker and Levi. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.

Due to concerns surrounding Covid-19, the family has decided to postpone the memorial service planned for Saturday at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints until a later date.
