He was predeceased by: his parents, Daniel Herbert and Leila Gladys Riggins Buie, Sr.; and his siblings, Almeda Jacques, Sara Buie, Gladys "Boo" Burgsteiner, Jean Deen, Daniel Herbert Buie, Jr. and Frank Stanley Buie, Sr..
He is survived by: his wife Equendial "Quen" McCrea Buie of Blackshear; his daughters, Gail (Sam Walker, Sr.) of Blackshear and Elizabeth Dowling of Blackshear; his brother Jack Buie (Carol) of Atlanta; his brothers-in-law, Braswell Deen, Sr. of Atlanta and John L. McCrea of Blackshear; his grandchildren, Lealane Sanders (Brian), Hannah Murray (Kelly), Cassie Berkemeier (Nick), Quincy Burgess (Chase), Sam Walker, Jr., Thomas Dowling, Jr., Jessica Clark (Chris), Hunter Buie, Bailey James (Blake) and Franklin Boyett; his great grandchildren, Olivia, Owen, Ava, Claire, Julianna, James, John Daniel, Maren, Quill, Taylor, Gracie, Natalie, Audrey, Riley Quinn and Elyse; and his close friends, John and Jane Bennett of Waycross. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, and other relatives.
Due to COVID-19, the family will have a private graveside service for Mr. Buie on Thursday, April 16, 2020.
