He was loved and cherished by many people including: his parents, Claude Thomas Carney and Lorene Jean Nichols Carney; his children, Rex Allen Carney of Dallas, GA., Michael Turner of Dallas and Nicole Gilbert of Dallas; his sisters, Shari (Gordon Spears), Gloria (Richard Griggs) and Beth (Mike Hegwood); and his grandchildren, Kaylin Gilbert and Adam Gilbert.
A graveside service was held on Friday, July 18th 2025 at 11:00 AM at the New Union Baptist Church (4159 Jones Creek Rd, Blairsville, GA 30512).
