He is survived by: his wife Lavada Holbrooks Cheek; his sons, James Cheek (Nicci) of Hiram, GA, Gary Cheek (Lisa) of Douglasville, GA and Kevin Cheek of Blairsville; his siblings, Shirley Mashburn (Edward) of Blairsville and Jerry Cheek (Susie) of Blairsville; his sister-in-law Nedra Cheek; and his grandchildren, Carissa Cheek, Mattison Cheek, Jacob Cheek and Miranda Cheek. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews, family and friends.
In lieu of flowers, Herman's wish was for donations to be made to the Woods Grove Cemetery Fund or the Georgia Masonic Children's Home in his memory.
