He was predeceased by: his parents, Manley Hamby and Nora Allison Hamby; and his siblings, Anna Belle Penland, Jessie Jackson, Pauline Hamby, Cecil Hamby, Manley Hamby, Loy Hamby and Henley Hamby.
He is survived by: his wife Sue Stephens Hamby of Blairsville; his children-in-law, Johnny Hamby, Charlene Hamby, Dale Hamby, Linda Dyer of Blairsville, Dayton Dyer of Blairsville, Peggy Bryson of Blairsville, Stanley Bryson of Blairsville, Debbie Sparks of Blairsville, Traci Owenby of Blairsville and Ricky Owenby of Blairsville; his sister-in-law Cricket Tanner of Blairsville; and his grandchildren, Tammy, Tonya, Sandy, Penny, Scotty, Stacy, Casey, Crystal, Stephanie, Josh, Caleb, Kyle, Kody and Kolt.
