He was predeceased by : his parents, Hazel Forbes and Oliver Forbes of Iowa City; and his siblings, Forrest Forbes, Miriam Cacek and Esther Forbes.
He is survived by : his wife Marcia Forbes; his children, Pam Sullivan (Richard) of Morganton, GA., Jim Forbes (Diane) of Phoenix, AZ, Stan Forbes (Susan) of Ft. Worth, TX and Brian Forbes (Kristeen) of Glenwood, IA.; his grandchildren, Dom Fiorino, Alyssa Fiorino, Ben Forbes, Alex Forbes, Ira Forbes, Alec Forbes, Dan Forbes and Olivia Forbes; and his great grandchildren, Carlos Arteaga, Charlotte Forbes, Oliver Forbes, Penny Forbes and Wayne Tinsley.
