He was predeceased by: his parents, Laurence Sparks and Ola Toney Sparks; his siblings, Bill Sparks, Dean Sparks and Betty Sparks Gullet; and his grandson Andrew Perry.
He is survived by: his wife Patricia Ann "Pat" Robinson Sparks; his children, Wendy Brown (Willie), Beth Hovis (Rob), Joni Perry (Derrill) and David Sparks (Michelle); and his grandchildren, Noah Brown (Angelica), Ian Brown (Shane), Rebekah Bradley (Carsten), Jena Seay (Ryan), Robert Hovis, Jr. (Danielle), Autumn Lovett (Cameron), Ashlyn Benton (Scott), Allie Perry, Aaron Perry, Sadie Foote (Jameson) and Dakota Ray Sparks. He is also survived by 14 great grandchildren.
