He was predeceased by : his brother Keith Helms. He is survived by : his parents, Nancy Rebecca Hill and Gene R. Helms; and his cousins, Robby, Jeanie Bailey, Robin Palmer, Jimmy Helms, Missie Ainsworth, Tommy Oberhausen, Brian Oberhausen, Cheryl, Cecil Brand, Trudi, Bryan Baudo, Nancy (Marvin) and Tony Dalon.
