He was predeceased by : his parents, William Henry Tharpe and Louise Rushing Tharpe; and his sister Carol Gay Wilson. He is survived by : his wife Bessie Pearl Tharpe of Butler; his children, George Tommy Tharpe of Reynolds, Charles Tharpe of Butler and Barbara Greene of Hiram, GA; and his brother Tommy Tharpe of Reynolds. He is also survived by five grandchildren and six great grandchildren.
