He was predeceased by: his parents, Vonie Irvin and Louise Carr; his brothers, Lawrence Carr, Luther Carr, Roy Carr Jr. and Kenneth Irvin; his stepfather Roy Carr Sr.; and his granddaughter Stormy Johnson.
He is survived by: his wife Patsy Ann Vickers Irvin; his children, L. D. Irvin (Donna) of Cedartown, Norman Irvin of Cave Spring, Lum Irvin (Donna) of Calhoun, Jimmy Irvin (Lonnita) of Cave Spring, Bobbie Johnson (Phillip) of Cedartown, Laura Odum (Larry) of Cairo and Jimmy Mozingo of Cairo; and his siblings, Juanita Bailey (Benny) of Kentucky and Frank Carr (Linda) of Leesburg. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
