He was predeceased by: his parents, Andy Abel and Hazel Banks Abel; his wife Mary V. Abel; and his siblings, Perry Abel, Gerald Abel and Peggy Abel.
He is survived by: his children, Wanda Looper (Joe) of Marietta and Marcus Abel of Calhoun; his grandchildren, Andrea Holland Bohannon (Michael) of Calhoun, Brian Holland (Kim) of Calhoun and Lacey Hensley (Kenny) of Dalton; his great grandchildren, Tiffany Roach of Alabama and Tyler Roach (Brooke); and his great great grandchild Gunner Roach. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
