She was predeceased by: her parents, John Frank Courtney and Ada Tullis Courtney; her siblings, Norma Wilson (Cecil), Harvey and Harold Courtney (Imogene); and her nieces, Jane Doughty and Paula Vanderpool.

She is survived by: her daughter Donna Younts Akins; her son-in-law Wayne Akins; her grandson Daniel Akins (Ally); and her nieces, Tomie Anderson and Micki Mitchell.

In lieu of flowers, a donation may be made to either First Monroe Baptist or a favorite charity.
