He was predeceased by: his parents, Harold Howell (Little Boy) and Marion Boring Howell; his daughter-in-law Emily Chalmers Howell; his brother Jerry Howell; and his siblings-in-law, Ray Starnes and Connie Howells.
He is survived by: his wife Pattie Howell; his daughter Beckie; his son-in-law Keith Pruitt; his son Joseph Brent Howell; his grandson Jonathan Grant Pruitt; his great grandchild Owen Grant Pruitt; his siblings, Randy Howell (Patsy), Mike Howell, Frankie Allen (Wayne), Jennifer Starnes and Joyce Carter (Jim Bo); and his sister-in-law Joan Howell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
