He was predeceased by: his father Bobby Tryn Stargell; his sisters, Rhonda Sue Vance and Christy Penland; his grandson Lucas Brown; and his niece Tiffany Hightower.

He is survived by: his mother Shirley Link Stargell (Joe); his wife Sherry Stargell; his children, Cody Neyman, Dewayne Stargell, Ashley Jackson (Neal Coleman) and Latisha McNamara (Frank); his siblings, Jackie Stargell (Jamie), Virgil Penland (Laura), Charles Penland (Dana), Brenda Horton (Chris) and Tammy Harris (Steve); and his nephew Kevin Stargell.
