It is with great sadness that we announce the death of Kathryn Burkes (Cleveland, Georgia), born in Wilkes Barre, Pennsylvania, who passed away on December 27, 2019, at the age of 72, leaving to mourn family and friends. She was predeceased by : her parents, Joe Tipton and Reva Tipton (Earls); and her former life partner Lee Cowley. She is survived by : her husband Henry Burkes; her children, Susann Murray (Kevin), Cindy Grier (Carl) and Peter Burkes (Anita); her grandchildren, Briggs, Alex, Avery, Olivia, Ellie, Ryan and Tyler; her brothers, Charles Tipton (Debbie), Barry Tipton (Sharla) and Joe LaDow (Susan); her cousins, Susan Crawford (Joe) and Tommy Ledford (Ann); and her close friends, Mitzi Daniels Lafferty, Marsha Smith and Shirley Bryant.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you donate in Kathy's name to The Gleason Foundation or the charity of your choice.
