She was predeceased by: her parents, Joel Abernathy and Gillie Abernathy (Franklin); her daughter Cynthia Vandiver Hammond; and her siblings, Catherine Adams, Bertha McKinney, Faye Barrett, Ray Abernathy and Alton Abernathy.
She is survived by: her children, Tracy Vandiver Smith (Russ) of Cleveland, Elizabeth Vandiver Farley of Demorest and Franklin Joel Vandiver (Angie) of Demorest; her son-in-law Ronnie Hammond of Gainesville, Five; her grandchildren, Courtney, Andrew Hammond, Bridgett, Vanessa and Jack Jordan Farley; her great grandchildren, Landon and Zachariah McElhannon; her sister Grace Burnett Stover (M. J.); her niece Melissa Ragan; and her sisters-in-law, Janice Abernathy, Jimmie Vandiver and Miriam Vandiver.
A reception will be held on Sunday, December 28th 2025 from 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at the Cleveland First Methodist Church (112 E Kytle St, Cleveland, GA 30528).
