He was loved and cherished by many people including : his parents, Juanita Bowen Swain and Walter Swain, Jr.; his brothers, Calvin Swain and Stanley Swain; his wife Rebecca Booth Swain; his children, Lamar Cowart (Joy), Christopher Mitchell (Brittany), Jonathan Mitchell (Leslie) and Maranda Garrett; and his sisters, Becky Roberts and Annie Chamlee. He was also cherished by ten grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.
