He was predeceased by: his parent Mertice Adele Webb; and his sisters, Mary Schultz and Leah Murray. He is survived by: his parent John Denton Watson; his wife Margaret; his children, John Blair Watson (Beth) of Smyrna and Melissa Ann; and his grandchildren, John Blair Watson, Jr., Michael Strickland Coale and David Starr Coale.
In lieu of flowers, Dr. Watson's family asks that anyone wishing to make a contribution in John's honor to do so to either St. Paul United Methodist Church or to the Boy Scouts of America.
