In the soft embrace of remembrance, we recall the profound impact Marie had on those she encountered along her journey. Though Marie may have slipped beyond the veil of mortality, her essence lingers like a faint fragrance in the air, a lingering reminder of the beauty and complexity of the human experience.

She was predeceased by : her parents, Frank Hinton and Lucinda Durham Hinton; her husband Deacon James Evans Jr.; and her children, Gloria Ann Ford and James Wesley Evans.

She is survived by : her daughters, Addie Marie Alexander and JoAnn Peters Robinson (Ricky); her sister Lucy Mae Peters; her niece Mary "Liz" Holt; and her nephews, Edward Harmon and Earnest Holt. She is also survived by six grandchildren, sixteen great- grandchildren, and six great-great-grandchildren, as well as a host of nieces and nephews.

Viewing was held on Thursday, May 2nd 2024 from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM. A funeral service was held on Friday, May 3rd 2024 at 12:00 PM at the Macedonia Baptist Church (342 Oswichee Rd, Seale, AL 36875).
