With heavy hearts, we announce the death of Joanne Phillips (Cordele, Georgia), born in Arabi, Georgia, who passed away on February 20, 2020 at the age of 91. Family and friends are welcome to leave their condolences on this memorial page and share them with the family.
She was predeceased by: her parents, Joseph Alton and Christine Royal Hamilton; her husband Luther Claude Phillips; and her siblings, Hortense Sims, Alton Hamilton, Helen Green and Laura Peebles.
She is survived by: her children, John Richard Phillips of Cordele, Becky McVey of Cordele, Pat Smith (James) of Cordele and Rhett Stephen Phillips of Atlanta; and her grandchildren, Thomas Phillips of Andrew McVey, J. P, Chris Smith, Michael Smith, Catherine Phillips and Elizabeth Phillips. She is also survived by six great-grandchildren.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to Wenona Baptist Church, 261 GA Hwy 33, Cordele, GA 31015.
