He was predeceased by: his parents, Doc Sims and Mary Jones Sims; his sister Rosemary Sims; and his brother-in-law Mixon Hobbs. He is survived by: his sisters, Nita S. Hobbs and Janie S. Croom (Marc); his nieces and nephews, Keith Barrett, Lee Barrett (Jean), Tanya H. Russell (Steve) and Michelle H. Mercer (Jeff); and his great-nieces and great-nephews, Matt Russell, Mitch Russell, Sara B. Renwick (Mac) and Holly Mercer.
