She was predeceased by: her parents, Benjamin Ivy Thornton and Cornelia Turner Thornton; her husband Robert Spanton Bissell; and her siblings, Cornelia Thornton Hawley and Benjamin Ivy Thornton, III.
She is survived by: her children, Mark Reed of Raleigh, NC, Rob of Evans, Helen Bissell of Evans, Wayne of Evans and Lynn Bissell of Evans; her sister Becky (Al Shauf) of Cordele; her sister-in-law Patricia Thornton of Cordele; her great grandchildren, Connor Reed, Vanesa Reed, Raelynn Reed, Lacey Reed, Hadley Reed and Van Marko; and also, Bradley, Nicole Reed, Blake, Christine Reed, Alyson Reed, Lindsay, Evan Marko, Ellie, Brian Russell, Ben Bissell, Kate Bissell and Will Bissell. She is also survived by eight grandchildren.
