He is survived by: his wife Karen Black Carter of Cordele; his son Perry Carter of Cordele; and his siblings, Leroy Carter (Wanda) of Cordele, Glenda Rhodes (Johnny) of Cordele, Violet Watson of Vienna and Marlene Scott of Columbus. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
